Let's Write a Steemit Story Together!
How many of you write fiction?
I've started a horror story in drafts, but it's taking a while to write it. I thought it would be fun to do some flash fiction and write a story together.
The basic idea is I give the first paragraph and then in the comments each person continues the story. This is purely for fun. Once we get to the end I'll put it all together and post it somewhere, or maybe just edit this post to include it here.
Tara walked to the edge of the water and peered in. Her eyes widened as the body of Mrs. Nesbit floated there. Her hair spread around her head and her stare permanently fixed on the sky. A small tabby kitten curled on her chest. It was black and looked at Tara with yellow eyes as it hissed. The whole scene felt like some nightmare she couldn't wake from. A loud thud on the dock startled her and she turned to see who'd found her. She couldn't believe her eyes.
Okay there we go, it can go anywhere comedy, horror, murder mystery, paranormal. The cat could talk! Be creative and have fun.
There was a light so bright it would have seemed blinding if it weren't so warm and forgiving. It was as if she had expected to see a freight train barreling down upon her but it was just this indescribable entity. The glow seemed to envelope the entire waterfront until just before she believed she might faint, she fell to her knees and her head fell just inches from the mossy dock. She could smell the moss clinging to the wet, weathered boards below her. She finally felt grounded. For a moment, she forgot what she just saw in the lake.
