RE: Deliverance Service

in #fiction7 years ago

Great read! I got up and walked out of a church when I was 15 because they tricked me and singled me out as "not saved." (I attended a different church regularly, was there with a friend.) They all bow heads to pray, then say "raise your hand if you've been saved" and our church did not use that term so I did not raise my hand. Lift my head after prayer to find two men ready to usher me up front. I BOOGIED! Preacher hollering from the pulpit "You can't leave" just made me run faster... LOL!

I can imagine you running out of church 😁😁😁, and what others would have concluded.

What did you think they would have done to you? lol

It's hilarious to think that this doesn't only happen in some churches on my side of the earth.

Truly, I was just mad they had tricked me. I may have only been 15, but tricking people into "accepting Jesus" did not seem like an OK thing to me, and I think I was on to something lol! And the thing is, at the time, I was a practicing Christian, baptized and attending my own church, I was just there with a friend. I was insulted that they felt I had to do it their way still.
