Chapter 32 Review:
Justin goes back in time and is told to climb in a trash bin in the alley. Inside the bin are hurried instructions. He is told to wait until 1:00 pm on Saturday before he opens the safe for the next set of instructions. Also, while inside the bin he hears little Justin and Blair spying on the jewel thieves. He quickly realizes that it is he who has to save them. While the jewel thief was carefully aiming his gun at the boys, Justin hit him in the head with a trash can lid. Just in time.
Chapter 33: All You Can Eat Buffet
"Saturday will be a great day. After this Saturday I will be free.", Larry Van Morrison said to himself.
"It is time to visit the Times. Get it? time Times", he laughed.
"Now let's think. The question is how? The more they suffer, the better. But first things first.", he said as he glanced under his bed.
Underneath his bed he saw his 357 magnum and his wife's urn. "Hello dear. After Saturday we will be free and we will celebrate together. I will buy you your favorite wine. Pinot Noir. We will toast to our freedom."
Then Larry pulled out his 357 magnum. "Hello Hannity. That is a great name for a gun. I named you after a very special occasion."
Larry walked out of his bedroom and down the hall.
" What else. What else. Yes, we will need rope.", he said as he stepped into the garage.
As he glanced around he found an old Boy Scout kit. He reached into it and pulled out a sturdy 25 foot rope. "Always be prepared.", he laughed.
"I love that Boy Scout motto. I wonder if Katherine and William or should I call him little Willy will be prepared when I pay them a visit on Saturday. I doubt it. I am sure that little Willy would never be prepared because he was never a boy scout. He was too busy selling Girl Scout cookies.", he laughed again.
"Now let's see. Hmm.. something painful." As he started glancing around the garage he noticed a shovel, a hoe, an electric drill and a chain saw. "Oh boy. This is just like an 'All you can eat buffet.'"
"Well. How did it go this time?", asked Blair. "I think it went well. I am back and you are still here. That is always a good sign.", he chuckled."
"Remember that day after school where we were spying on the jewel thieves?", asked Justin.
"How could I forget? You almost got me killed."
"I was only nine years old. Anyway, do you remember when we were running away and you turned to look back over your shoulder?"
"Yes"
"Remind me what you saw again."
"If I remember correctly. I saw one man on the ground and another running away in the opposite direction. I think he had a trash can lid in his hand."
"That's right! That was me running in the opposite direction. I was hiding in that green trash bin that we were next to. I jumped out and hit that man with that trash can lid. I think I killed him. He was aiming his gun at us and my adrenaline was so high. I just reacted."
"You didn't kill him. They were apprehended that evening. There were a total of three men and the police found them shortly afterwards. I told my parents as soon as I got home and they called the police."
"One more thing happened.", said Justin. "When I was in the bin, I found a note written by myself. I must of been in an extreme hurry because the writing was sloppy and incomplete. This was the first time, I have been given instructions that were not from the present. Anyway, I was instructed to not open the safe until exactly 1:00 pm on Saturday. I am fine with that because my body is exhausted. Now I can recuperate on Friday."
"Remember we are going to Kirstin's play on Friday.", reminded Blair.
"That's right! I almost forgot.", said Justin.
"I will pick you up at 6:00 pm. on Friday.", said Blair.
On Friday, Blair picked up Justin at 6:00 pm. Justin climbed into the car and said, "You still have this old thing?"
"This is a 1967 Chevy. It's a classic.", argued Blair."
"It looks terrible."
"When I am through fixing it up, it will look awesome."
"You've been saying that you will fix it up for two years now."
"I've been busy.", said Blair.
"Yeah. You have been too busy for two years. Busy doing what?"
"Let's see. I took a leave of absence for months to help a friend with his tumor. I have helped him in building a time traveling device. I have been helping him with dream control and spiritual traveling. I also have been helping him with..."
"Okay. Okay. You made your point. I am the last person who should complain about that. I hate it when you make your point so well.", Justin laughed.
"Why are you stopping off here?”, Justin asked.
Blair had parked at a florist. "It is customary during a theatrical performance to give actors flowers. Especially if they are a main character."
"Wow. You remember everything. I knew you were good for something.", teased Justin.
"We did it! We have developed the time traveling contraption.", exclaimed Dr. Filbrick.
"It was a great team effort.", said Elroy. "We had me, Eugene and 23 technicians working around the clock to accomplish this."
"You guys did a great job!", complimented Filbrick. And as you may know, I don't give out compliments easily."
"Yeah. We know.", said many of the tired but pleased workers together.
"Let's call the media and have them here at 9:00 pm tonight.”
"We will do that. But first we should go over the plan one more time as it is critical that we make no mistakes.", said Elroy.
Elroy continued, "You will arrive at Vista Hermosa Natural Park on October 3rd, 1995. That is the day that the famous football player and actor, Ojay Simpson, was found not guilty of murder. That park is a very quiet park and that location where you will be spawning is quiet. You should be unnoticed. Wait until your embryo fully develops. That should take about five minutes. After that, enter its body. You know how that is done. The Los Angeles Superior Court is close by. You will have your cell phone with you to record the event. Ojay should be leaving the courthouse about 15 minutes after you arrive there. This will give you plenty of time to squeeze towards the front so you can get a good recording. You can also take as many pictures as you want. Also, feel free to narrate and discuss who you are so that it is clear that this recording was not done in 1995. Since you are from the future, be somewhat vigilant. The crowd will be so packed it is unlikely anyone will give you any notice. Before you travel, we will have third party skeptics reviewing your cell phone to make sure there is nothing being staged. This will all be done in front of the media. If you have anything personal on your cell phone that you do not want anyone to see, you should erase it. I think I have reviewed everything unless you can think of anything else."
"Thanks for the briefing. I am quite clear on what I need to do.", said Dr. Filbrick confidently.
"Dr. Filbrick. I would like a moment alone with you please. Privately.", said Eugene.
They slipped into a nearby room where Eugene asked, "I want to make sure you feel confident in controlling your spirit as you travel. From all the research that we have done, it appears that it would take months or even years to perfect it."
Dr. Filbrick said, "I am not the average person. I have also been working around the clock on my responsibility of this project. I have everything under control."
"I need to speak bluntly because I care so much about you and your company. Much of the time we have been working together and you seem to have it correct 80% of the time. We may be attempting this too soon. If there are mistakes, they may be irreversible."
"Thanks for your concern Eugene, but I know what I was doing wrong on those other attempts, I am confident I will be fine. Also, we do not have the luxury of time to wait as Justin will be announcing this on Saturday. You and I heard him say that himself right before his friend found our recording device that we planted. I am ready."
