When you write a fiction story just "forget the storyline"!

What is the first thing comes to mind when we want to make a story? The plot itself isnt it? That can be right, but also can be wrong! What it means? In one of artcile site I've read, I forgot when or where I've read It, there is a memorable sentence: "To make a good story, FORGET the plot and just focus to make a good CHARACTER."

Is funny isnt it? While according to logic and common sense, a good story should begin with a good story idea. But this article is advised to forget the plot and start building stories from building a character. 

Confused? At first I was also confused. But finally I understand. Here is a simply logic.

Answer this question:

You know Harry Potter? 

Surely you know.

And answer me this, how is the plot story in Harry Potter's 3rd book ?

With this question, some people can answer it, while some people dont. 

But one thing remain clear. There are more people know who is Harry Potter, than his story in third books!

It is similar with these names as well. Which one of this name rings a bell?

Bruce Wayne, Tony Shark, Kenshin Himura, Conan Edogawa, Nobita, Shizuka, Doraemon, Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, April O Neil, Angus MacGyver, and so on so on. 

So the conclusion is, the impressiveness of character sometimes is bigger than plot his own story. At present, writing a 100% original story idea is impossible. Because every idea of

the story is usually already influenced by the idea of

another story. Same with the character too. However, the chance to create an original character is much more than creating an original story idea.

So beside create a great story, why dont you come to develop a good character first?
