FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017: England crowned champions beating Spain 5-2

England made a remarkable comeback from two goals down to outclass three-time runners-up Spain 5-2 and clinch their maiden FIFA U-17 World Cup at a packed Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, India on Saturday.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino delivers the champion trophy to the captain Angel Gomes of England.

The spectacle was taking place in front of a capacity crowd of 66,684 at the Salt Lake Stadium. Three-time champions Brazil beat Mali 2-0 to claim bronze medal.

Spain took the early advantage in the final, thanks to a first-half brace by Sergio Gomez. The Spaniard found the net in 10th and 31st minute of the game.

But his effort was wiped out soon and England piled on the misery by scoring five back-to-back goals against Spain to clinch their maiden title. England scored five goals through Rhian Brewster (44th), Morgan Gibbs White (58th), Phil Foden (69th, 88th) and Marc Guehi (84th).

England have now done a FIFA double in the same year, having won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in June.
