Saint Peter

Saint Peter, the only Apostle to be crucified upside down, said, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the Devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." He also believed in having "hope to the end."

Evil is all around us. It comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. It may come in the form of people, a pill, a drug, or a drink. We might have times where we feel like we're being pulled in multiple directions and don't know what to do or where to go. It might even be in the form of bribery or someone asking us to lie for them. It could even be in the form of cheating, whether it's in our relationships, on an exam, or taking short cuts.

We must remain vigilant in our lives. Even during our toughest times in life, we shall forever remain hopeful. As Viktor Frankl noted in his literature, when people lost hope and meaning while in concentration camps, they developed a fatalistic attitude, leading to their death.

Action for the day: I will remain hopeful today. I will stay vigilant. I will stay focused on carrying out my vision and purpose in life. I will take a stand against evil ideologies.
