Happy Movie Going!

Sort:

It was a really strange movie. I think it was very pointless and really boring.
Just one example the solution for the conflict between Superman and Batman was really bad (My Mommies name is also Martha... WHAT!?).

But there were some good thing in the movie. Ben Affleck was good as Batman. The car was also great. And Lex Luthor was cool.

It was basically a love letter to the white male, depicting him as a savior. Bordering on misogynistic and racist.
Also too long!

Yes it was too long. But I have never thought about this movie as racist. But yea important character is white in the movie, even the evil one. Now I am thinking how would be a Superman or Batman played by a non white actor! :)

I saw the film a couple of weeks ago. Overall I thought it wasn't a bad movie. It of course had over the top special effects. It did take scenes from previous movies, but it presented them from a new perspective.

It had some issues that I always find messed up in these hero movies (yet I still MUST read them and watch them).

When Superman (way overpowered) is fighting any really powerful person they punch each other and sail through like 3 buildings before they come to a stop. The guy can lift buildings and ocean liners and other crazy things.

Yet batman in his suit he can only punch in such a way that he kind of slides across the ground about half a football field?

I use my suspension of disbelief and say... "He didn't really want to hurt batman at this time." which is more or less true. :)

As I grow older I prefer heroes who are not so over the top in terms of power. That way they seem to have challengers... now with what happens to Superman in the movie... maybe I am wrong.

Really interesting thoughts here. It is funny how even when some films don't appeal, we feel we 'should' see them either because others are watching them or because we have FOMO (fear of missing out)

I want see this film!

The one issue with the film is that it glorifies the white male at the expense of other races and genders.
