It was recently discovered that the name Chris Evans, who was chosen as Captain America in the MCU, turned out to have the name Robert Downey Jr. behind it. How come? Here's the answer!

So, based on the book The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was revealed that Chris Evans almost missed out on the role of Steve Rogers.

This is because Kevin Feige, and producer Stephen Broussard chose Sebastian Stan for the role.

Even Chris Evans himself was not so sure about himself being asked to participate in the casting by Joel Silver for the film Captain America: The First Avengers.

However, that eventually vanished after Robert Downey Jr. helped him by saying that the role suited him very well.

"It's a big commitment to appear in this Marvel movie. Initially I was offered nine films, then it turned into six. But the six films can take a very long time," said Chris.

"My concern is the fact that there will be changes in my life and keeping those commitments can be difficult for me to do," he continued.

Chris finally accepted the offer and was successfully selected to appear as Captain America. Sebastian Stan who failed at the time, finally got the role of Bucky Barns.
