How to Find Your True Self

in #find7 years ago

Hello fellow Steemians, I am here to give you some more content that you can use to implement into your own life.

I was reading a book about exploring the true nature of self, mind, and consciousness and I by the time I got through with the first chapter, I was damn near a changed man.

It was talking about how we put on a "mask" because of what our society has fed us or how we culturally grew up.

For example, if a person grew up in a rough neighborhood in NY, from that standpoint, a number of assumptions and beliefs can be thrown around. Out of those assumptions and beliefs, that kid from NY will embody and will make them his own.

In that sense, he is wearing the mask that has been put on him by society instead of wearing the mask that is his genuine true self.

Now despite the negative energy I have created in this post so far (lol), there is a way that everyone, no matter how much we sulk ourselves into our own false world, can bring out our genuine self.

The great thing about it is that IT HAPPENS NATURALLY.

AND WE CAN'T CONTROL IT

When we are engulfed by the false self that we have put on by society and the world, every once and a while, we have a moment that we express who we really are.

Let's take the NY kid for example...

Say that the NY kid was raised in a bad environment and he has people around him that is a bad influence. He puts on a mask every day trying to act tough and be apart of the society and culture around him. Then suddenly, a guy comes up to him and starts talking about the new anime show that came on last night.

GUESS WHAT...

That same guy who acts "hard" every day and was taught to take no prisoners, is the same person that is blabbing and talking about the recent anime show that aired last night. He is talking about the different characters and how this could have happened if he would just do this and ya ya ya...for about another 30 minutes.

That is how our true self is taken out and this is when we have the most fun. Our genuine self is triggered and released by something that you are truly interested and passionate about.

Then it passes and we go back to the persona that we have been putting on.

We let the world and society not influence but control how we see ourselves. It's the second word that changes us.

Once we let go of what society is trying to shape us into becoming and start just living out our daily lives as our true and genuine self, we can reach a peak state of treasury that we can naturally enjoy.
