Allow me to introduce myself
I am thrilled to be here! I intend to share my journey as a fire dancer, performer and entertainer.
I have been practicing this art form for nearly 15 years. I perform with a variety of props such as a hula hoop, poi (swinging balls), fans, and palm candles. This is my passion, and has led me to purpose as well. I operate a studio space where we lead classes and teach safety among other movement modalities (dance, yoga & fitness). I'm also a certified yoga instructor. Aside from the aesthetics and thrill, the dance itself is a form of healing, connecting right and left brain activity and creating new neural pathways. I intend to share this sort of information, as well as safety measures, gig stories, gorgeous photos and videos, costuming, travel and all else related to my journey of dancing with fire.
I am a divorced, 36 year old single mother of two girls ages 10 and 12. I perform all around my local city, where I have been a founder of our ever growing fire dancing scene of more than 30 individuals. Not all perform. Some just enjoy the art with friends. Some don't ever light up and practice with their prop of choice without the fire. I have professional liability insurance that allows me to book corporate and indoor gigs. I work with my local city festivals committee on bookings and events, and also book many private parties. Thanks for checking out my first post. I look forward to exploring and being a part of this community! I'd love to be interactive in my stories. Please post any questions, interests and ideas you may have regarding fire dance or prop (flow) manipulation in general! I intend to cover a wide variety of topics in this field and hope to pique your interest!
These photos were taken by Justin Curtis in Wichita, KS at our recent Final Friday (last Friday of the month) extravaganza smack in the middle of a popular downtown square in my small city, Wichita, KS. This event has grown tremendously in 9 years and has become a staple entertainment in our Final Friday nightlife.
