I personally think it's a stupid tradition as well. Why build such a huge tower and then burn it to the ground. It's not even beautiful to watch. And also, why do this on the night the whole world is already foggy due to fireworks :P All the fires happened because 'sparks' were flying everywhere. Now it's being researched who's to blame (did they build to high etc.).
Anyway seems you enjoyed NY besides all this. Best wishes!
Yeah man, I totally agree, this is insane and should be forbidden in my opinion. However they are already talking about the next one.. The mayor seems to be afraid of riots if he would van it. Crazy right? It seems the changing of years should be a positive thing, a way of saying let's do things different/better. At least that's what I thought. It seems people have a different opinion in Scheveningen..

Kind of, everything is nearby in the Netherlands. Not such a big country ;) But I live more in the center of it. Scheveningen is located on the western coastline.
