Road Trip, Surfing, Fishing And Cooking
Peeps I have had an Amazing Road trip.
All the way from Cape Town, South Africa to Elands Bay stayed there for 4 days, my buddy Willem caught some sick waves, I wish i could show you guys some photos but it was so misty and cold could not get that perfect Pictures.
Willem Preparing He's Board for Surf:
I do not Surf, was there for some Fishing, the water was to cold to fish so ended up chilling, walking the beach and watching the Lads Surf. Weather came in and we packed up our Camping gear and headed over to Vleesbaai, 6 Hours Drive from Elands Bay.
Vleesbaai:
Vleesbaai's Weather was amazing there was little wind so the Surf was not that great, but the fishing was amazing.
Day 1: Vleesbaai, i woke up very Early to go and Cut Red Bait and Fish, i Caught a Beautiful Blacktail that we fried in the Pan with some french fries no Photo's my charger broke had to go buy new one the next day.
Day 2: I went Spear fishing, was amazing had about 3 meters (9.8 ft) visibility. The first Rock i found, dived underneath it, and there was a beautiful cave, full of fish hiding. I shot 3 Belman Kobs and 1 Blacktail:
Day 3: Another great Spearfishing day, shot 2 Zebra fish, 2 blacktails, 2 Belman Kobs, 1 was way undersize, was very sandy waters and dark hole he was hiding in, truly looked a lot larger underwater.
Day 4 and 5 Was beach days for the Ocean visibility was not to great for spearing and we had more than enough meat for next couple of days, I did try Fishing, it is currently GALJOEN season in South Africa, Galjoen is our National fish and is protected, season is closed for 5 months off the year October - February. I was not successful in catching one the entire week in Vleesbaai.
Day 6: Last day in Vleesbaai and i decided to go do some night fishing off the rocks, it was full moon and 1 hour after sunset the Elwe/Shad also known as Blue fish in US started biting it was an amazing night caught and released a few fish but kept the 3 Largest ones:
Day 7: Early start, packing and off we go Back home to Cape Town. Holiday done and time to focus on some trading back to work:
Hope you guys enjoyed the Post, my next one will follow soon , me showing you guys how I cooked and prepared the Shad i caught.
