You Don't Need Motivation, You Need Discipline | Gym Tips

Motivation is one of the most important bases of our life. Every day we look for a good dose of motivation. Many people look for motivation in social networks, in photos, videos, or even for other people their motivation may be to earn more money or simply improve their life standard.

We all look for motivation, and we believe that it is the most important part to progress physically, in our work and intellectually.

In this post I will explain why motivation is a hoax and why it will not help you to achieve your goals, if you really don't have another very important concept in mind: DISCIPLINE.

We constantly see hundreds of motivational images that tell us "motivate yourself", "don't give up", "get up", however that dose of motivation lasts only a few minutes and then disappears.

Why can't we move forward when our motivation fails? Because we lack discipline. For example, when you see a spectacular sunrise, with a sun that shines incredibly, you begin to feel full of energy and decide to go outside to run or jog, inspired and motivated by that context. However, that feeling and that excitement usually last only a few seconds, and as soon as you take your first steps, that internal flame begins to go out, because you don't have the discipline to do it.

Obviously when you develop discipline, those small doses of motivation will help you move forward. Do you think that people who are preparing for a competition like Mr. Olympia or an Olympic lifting competition are always motivated? The answer is NO, but they have discipline. These people have a very stressful life and it is impossible for them to be motivated every day, but they have forged an iron discipline that allows them to move forward to achieve their goals.

Not everything is motivation, anyone can tell you nice things and try to motivate you, but it is you who have to develop the discipline day after day. But why are many people unable to develop it? Because they simply try to skip stages, they want to run without knowing how to walk, and that is impossible. You have to go step by step.

Discipline is the most important thing to be successful in any area of our life. Without it we will not be anything. All the successful people, the great athletes, scientists, researchers, big businessmen, have come to where they are thanks to forging a strong discipline, and that is what has differentiated them from the rest of people.

So from now on, don't motivate yourself just for the body of a person or for the things that they have achieved. Be motivated by the DISCIPLINE they have forged and begin to develop your own discipline.

Rightly said @ raiser, exercise is just like anything else in life -- you get out what you put in. Some people hit the gym and are able to keep energy and discipline levels high, while others struggle to make fitness part of a daily schedule. The difference? Those who discipline themselves to make exercise a priority are those that will see the best results.

Nice blog!
