Follow These Steps When Baking Chiffon Cakes And You Can Never Go Wrong !

When there is an occasion or a birthday celebration, it would be very interesting for you to be able to come up with a delicious cake of your choice. Today I will be giving you the steps that I and my little take for us to bake a very interesting and delicious chiffon cake.

Here are the ingredients

 2 1/2 cups of cake flour

1 cup of icing sugar

1 tablespoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 cup of oil cooking oil or olive oil will do

1/2 cup of boiling water

8 egg yolks

1 teaspoon vanilla

8 egg whites

1/2 cup of sugar 

1 teaspoon cream of tartar


To tell you more about chiffon cake, a lot of people think that it is complex to make chiffon cake but I can tell you baking chiffon cake is pretty easy. A mixer will definitely make thing easier. 

Chiffon cake is the combination of shortened cake and the popular sponge cake. This is basically the reason why people think making chiffon cake is a bit complex. I will be giving you step to take so that you can never go wrong in making that perfect chiffon cake.

Step One

In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients together which includes the cake flour, baking powder and the salt. Mix very well using a wooden spoon, also ensure that all ingredients are properly distributed. Set aside.

Step Two

In another bowl start the creaming process by first mixing properly the oil and the sugar. When it is properly mixed add in the egg yolk and vanilla, mix it very well

Step Three
Combine the creamed mixture and the flour mixture together, pour in the flour slowly while mixing together. Mix properly making sure there isn't any lump. Add the boiling water and mix well. Set it aside.

Step Four

Using a mixer, put the eggs whites in the mixing bowl and at very high speed mix the egg whites for about 2 minutes until the foam is well risen then add the cream of tartar and mix continuously of about a minute or two. Slowly add in the icing sugar and keep mixing. When the mixture is stiff remove turn off the mixer.

Step Five 

Immediately add the creamed mixture into the egg white mixture, using a silicon spatula fold in the creamed mixture into the egg white mixture. Make sure that when folding in the mixtures the spatula get to scoop right from the bottom to the top. Do this repeatedly until everything is properly folded in.

Preheat your oven for about 10 mins

Grease your desired baking pan and apply some wax paper over it, grease the bottom of the wax paper, then place the batter in the pan, hit the pan against the counter in order for all the bubbles to rise to top, then use the spatula to flatten the surface to prevent any cracks when it is baked.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. When it is baked, remove from the oven and cool for about 20 minutes,when it is cool, remove fro the pan and place it on a cooling rack to further cool, remove the wax paper.

When the chiffon cake is cool you and glaze it with some creamy frosting or ice it up for special occasion, I hope this method is helpful and help you to achieve baking the perfect chiffon cake.
