If You Love Peach Cobbler, You'll Love This Post (Whether You're a Good Cook or Not!) #FoodHolidays
Anybody here from Georgia?
If you are, then you probably already know what today is.
drumroll please...
๐ It's National Peach Cobbler Day! ๐
(Then again, since you're here and so have probably already read the title or saw the bigass image at the top, you probably knew that whether you were from Georgia or not...but that's my lead-in so neh!)
You might think there is no way I could do more than one recipe on this particular post. After all, how many ways could there be to make this scrumptious Southern dessert staple? However, I'm the type of person that likes options.
After all, would someone that gives you 7 recipes for grilled cheese leave you hanging?
I think not. ๐
So I'm including a more traditional cobbler for those who like things completely homemade, an easier one with Bisquick for those that are pretty busy, and then a super easy version made from cake mix for superhumans that are so busy they only have a few minutes to spare - it only takes four ingredients!
Sound good?
Awesome sauce, here we go:
1 - Grandmother's Peach Cobbler (Authentic)
When scouting out the recipes to feature in this post, I was amazed at how few people were showcasing authentic peach cobbler.
Then I found Robyn. She is a seventh generation southerner from...you guessed it...Georgia!
As soon as I saw that, I knew this was the one.
If you have a chance, you just have to check out her site, Add a Pinch. She weaves stories intricately into her well-laid-out recipe instructions, and the photos are absolutely beautiful.
No wonder she has a cookbook out now too!
If you are looking for a true, just-begging -for-vanilla-ice-cream-or-fresh-whipped-cream-topping southern peach cobbler recipe using fresh peaches and a homemade crust, look no further.
2 - Farm Fresh Peach Cobbler (Easy)
Rural Mom says this is her site's most popular recipe, and I can see why.
You get all of the wonderful flavor in just a fraction of the time.
While nothing can beat authentic, Grandma-style goodness, this is a close second, and is pretty close to the one I usually make when I am low on time.
I really don't buy Bisquick and things like that very often because of the ingredient list, but I always have it on hand because it is so easy to make at home.
(If you're interested in how to do it, let me know in the comments and I will make sure I post it soon!)
This calls for an hour, but you may want to start checking on it around 45 minutes if your oven runs hot.
3 - 4 Ingredient Cake Mix Peach Cobbler (Super Easy)
I am all about homemade, but sometimes you just need a shortcut.
And this recipe gives you all the goodness in a fraction of the time.
All you need are peaches, cake mix, butter, and cinnamon sugar. (Well, you need an oven too.)
You just throw it all together and in less than an hour, you've got peach cobbler.
Definitely a winner!
If your canned peaches are in syrup rather than juice, you can omit the sugar and just use plain cinnamon.
And if you'd prefer to not use canned peaches at all, you can use frozen. You can also use yellow or butter cake mix if that's what you have on hand, and still have awesome results.
There you go, three recipes for peach cobbler ranging from super authentic to super easy.
Whichever one you choose to make, don't forget the vanilla bean ice cream!
Have you made peach cobbler before or have a favorite recipe? I'd love to hear about it.
If you make one of these, let me know which one you choose.
And post pictures!
