5 ways to ensure you succeed in sticking to your lifestyle goals.

Congratulations.

The fact that you're reading this means you've taken one giant step closer to achieving your lifestyle goals. Here you will find nuggets of wisdom, hope to inspire a life or two.

Whatever your reasons I try and come back every few days to read this article and refresh my mind and rekindle my desire to stick to my goals.

Start small and make it realistic.

You decide today I'm going vegan today. I shall give up meat, gluten, dairy, junk, cola and all processed food. 2 days later I shall see you at the drive through of a fast food restaurant. There is no point going cold turkey. Most of the time you will not be able to stick to your goal.

You have to Dream Big, But Start Small. If your goal is to improve your diet, start with drinking 2 litres of water a day. Once you have achieved that change your breakfast to a plant based green smoothie.

Next understand which food has gluten and work with that knowledge. One small step for you and after many small steps you shall change your lifestyle.

Don't go hungry - keep clean food around all the time - resist temptations.

Do not forget to celebrate each and every small success. Visualise Success and Manifest it into reality. You and only you can do this.

The time is now - Start now

90% of new year resolutions are broken in their first week. Just compare the amount of walkers/runners on a popular track on the 1st of Jan and 1st of Feb. Don't wait for a particular day to start. Over the years, I've come to accept that we are natural procrastinators. No matter how much we want to avoid it, its just in our nature.

Avoid the delay in getting your life back. Start now, not tomorrow, not on April fools day, Start Now.

Create a peer group and involve others

It might be hard to convince your family to jump on this bandwagon with you. Over time when they see your results hopefully they will join you on your journey. Initially it will be extremely hard. Find people with the same mindset as you. They might be just starting their journey or a little ahead. Feed off each others enthusiasm. Encourage each other. Talk everyday. Share ideas.

Make it a competition but be supportive. Feel your self slipping, pick up the phone and speak to your supporter.

Make it your Habit

Make it your passion. Make it your habit. Go all autopilot on it. Keep lots of good clean food around so when you feel the need to snack you reach out for them. Throw away all your junk food. You know what it is. It’s Not a Diet, It’s a Lifestyle change.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” –Aristotle

No pain No Gain - Pain is your friend

It Will Never Be Easy. Change is seldom easy. No article or video will change your mind or make you stick to your goals. If you stick to it you will achieve it. At times it will be hard but there is light at the end of the tunnel. You want all of these benefits, then you have to work for it. Some things will be harder than others.

Start small but dream big.
