Green Beans - Yellow Wax Beans - in Roasted Bread Crumbs - DIY Guide

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Imagine you went to a farmers market and you bought too much green and yellow wax beans. The price was good, the beans were FRESH and you knew these are good for you.

Now, what do you do with all of that greenee-yellow stuff.
That's exactly what's happened to me.

Honestly - I didn't see a problem here... ;)

My family and I love the fresh green and wax beans and I decided to make my childhood favourite; Golden Wax and Green Beans in roasted bread crumbs.....mmmm, mmmm,...yummm!

Lets get started!

Clean the beans and cut the ends off.
In a medium pot bring water to a boil.
Add the beans to the boiling water.
Continue cooking until little bit soft (about 5-10min)
Drain off.

Heat up a frying pan and add about 3 table spoons of bread crumbs to a hot pan.
Roast just for some seconds.
When the pan is hot it's very easy to burn the crumbs, so be careful.

Next, add a table spoon of butter or if you like more buttery, add more....
(I didn't say it would be fat free..)
Combine the butter with the bread crumbs.

Now, add the beans!

Combine the beans with the roasted bread crumbs.
Add salt and black pepper to taste.
Are you hungry yet..?
