Juicy Turkey Recipe!

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Juicy Turkey....mmm, mmm...tasty!

Do you make your turkey from scratch or do you order yours ready at the supermarket or restaurant?

As usual, I cooked my turkey from scratch for this Thanksgiving Feast and it tasted delicious!
There are many different ways to cook the big bird and most of us have our own favourite recipe.
Some of them are being past from generation to generation.
My recipe is simple and mouthwatering!

I start with fresh turkey

Preheat oven to 350degrees F
Wash the bird inside and out
Dry it with a paper towel

Next,

Cut holes to make packets for the garlic clove

Melt the butter

Mix salt, pepper, dry parsley flakes, thyme, basil, minced garlic
Combine

Rub the herb mixture

Into the cavity of the turkey and outside as well

Then stuff the cavity with two apples

Add 2 cups of broth to the bottom of your roasting pan
(if your turkey is small 1 cup should do)

Bake the turkey in the preheated oven

This process depends on your oven but usually it takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours

Can you smell that turkey already?

Yeah,... it smelt amazing at my house while roasting it!
Now, remove the rosted apples out of the bird's cavity.
Pour the juices out and make the gravy out of it....but this in my next post......

Enjoy!!!
