First Time Eating A Bison Burger! Was It Any Good?

in #food7 years ago

Good day folks! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was okay, I did get to try something new and interesting that I wanted to share with you guys although. @carolina-girl and I went out to a restaurant that we had never been to before to give it a go. The name of the place was Cin Cin Burger Bar.

Although, this place is known for their specialty burgers, they also have steaks, chicken and pasta.

This place was packed! They have an outdoor seating area also with heating as you can see in the photo. We were lucky and inched our way to the bar where we waited for about 45 minutes for our table.

The bar was well stocked and had just about every spirit needed for a fine cocktail or glass of wine.

I settled for a Manhattan cocktail and boy was it made right!

We were kinda splurging on this night so we ordered some appetizers that looked appealing to us. The fries were topped with a creamy Gorgonzola sauce and scallions.

@carolina-girl and I both chose to build a bison burger. When doing that, we were able to choose everything from several different types of breads, meats, toppings and sides. For my burger, I chose sourdough, bison meat, candied bacon, fried egg, mushrooms and Gorgonzola cheese.

I had it cooked medium rare if anyone is wondering.
Bison beef has less fat than regular beef and is very rich in protein, it also has a sweeter taste to it. This particular beef was grass fed and was extremely tender. I would definitely order this again if I had the chance to do so!

Since we blew our diets all to hell, there was no sense in stopping now, so we ordered an adult banana milkshake with bourbon in it.

Needless to say, we were not able to eat all of this, nowhere near it actually and had to get 3 boxes to haul it all home with us lol.

I hope you guys enjoyed coming along with us while we tried out a bison burger at this new restaurant. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and as always, have a great day!

It was delicious, now we have to get back on track with our diets!

I keep telling you that every time you make one of your goodies....😕

Boy, doesn't that look delicious!
You are right about buffalo not having much fat and choosing to have it cooked medium rare as a result.
They did a fantastic job on the pour of the shake. It looks cool with the butterscotch and chocolate sauce "glassed". ;)

I use to wanna be a bartender back in the day and I could make nifty and cool little drinks like that. I loved layering drinks, it was so much fun! I wish I could remember what it was that I would make all the time that was 3 different layers/colors. Blue, red...grrr, I can't remember! I know I use to float Baily's Irish Cream alot with a spoon. Ahhh! Chocolate Covered Cherry is one drink that I would make that everyone loved that looked cool! If I remember correctly, it had 3 layers in a shot glass. Cool stuff my friend!

Oh, I think you are going to make a great bud-tender if you like the art of being a mixologist. In the cannabis culture, we choose the right strain for the right pain or application...then we take a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
Completely custom...so much fun, I tell you!
I will be building a bud bar right in my house for this exact purpose. It will be completely steam-punk-ified. (Yeah, new word..Lol!) Everyone needs a few hobbies. Hahaha!

Wow on all the eating. I am envious.Ha
I love to find new places like that. And most of the time.
The people that opened the new place know what they are doing.
It seems that it was that way for you too.
Thank you for showing this to us.
Oh, the cannabis battle is beginning. I think I have learned enough from @rebeccaryan to side with the cannabis states and supporters.
It is time for the Federal government to let the states decide some things for themselves. My opinion anyway.
Thank you

Francis

I agree, the government should step aside and let the states decide or better yet, let the people decide on what they want to do with cannabis.

Damn son! That could not look more delicious! Glad you had a good experience! 😀 Great post!

Holy shit! When did you get over here?! Oh hell...It says you opened your account in December, and you're just now coming to see me...😭

Bison or buffalo meat is tender, lean and on the sweetish side. I love it. Can find any of those burgers down here. You made me drool...

Lol I'm sorry! I hate that you can't get these in your area. I think I fell in love with them!

Dam son you never tried bison that's the Best ever lol you made the exact Burger that I would have made looks dam good

Dude, that was some good shit right there!

Nice! I just had a bison burger last night at a place called Lazy Dog. Excellent I tell you!

Lazy dog sounds like my kinda place lol.

The key to a good bison burger is not to overcook it. Yours appeared to be just right.

It seems to have been a very good experience ...
If it is not too much trouble and you have some time I invite you to my blog.

Thank you and I did.

Muchas gracias eres muy amable felicitaciones.

Man, now I am extremely hungry. I'll have to keep that place in mind. Thanks for posting your review.

Lol well, hopefully it's lunch time where you're at now!
