Taste Test: Khao Soi

Thai golden curry is sweeter and richer than its more commonly known Indian relative. Typically, it is used as a sauce and poured over rice with vegetables, but in this case it was more of a soup with a rice noodle base. I opted for the Beef version of this dish, though it also comes with chicken or tofu. You can also choose your level of spice, with medium being roughly equivalent to Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Seriously, it hit the spot – hearty enough to satisfy but light enough to not make you drowsy. If you find yourself anywhere near Berczy Park (about a 15 minute walk east of Union Station), the Khao Soi is a good, quick lunch.
