Casa Sophia Playa Del Carmen My Favorite Italian Restaurant
Casa Sophia has to be one of my favourite places for an authentic Italian meal. This is family owned 3rd generation restauranteurs, who have taken family recipes from over the years and have made them their own and have created a wonderful setting with great food, drinks and desserts all made fresh daily in a wonderful setting with an excellent atmosphere. It has great food and great service and very economically priced. I have eaten here now about 50 times. I have had my parents here now about 5 times since they arrived in Playa. Last night out we had 2 thin crust pizzas and a 1/2 carafe of wine and the bill was under 300 pesos. Which is pretty amazing for a dinner for 3 people. Both my folks and I have tried several different items here and honestly, have not had a bad meal. The deserts are also great and I love the white chocolate brownie with chocolate Ice cream. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the longest we ever had to wait was about 15 mins. I would suggest a reservation if you are planning on a Friday or Sat night and especially during high season or holidays. They also host Christmas, Wedding and Birthday parties. Located in the South end of Playa Del Carmen just across the street from Playacar. Very close to the municipal airport. Av. Aviacion s/n, Playacar, 77723 Playa del Carmen, Q.R.
