Cozumel! Magical Island

Let me start telling you, living at the Caribbean it’s amazing having the heat the most of the year, and even when its “Cold” still pretty tropical, but the reason I love so much living here is because all the destinations I have around Playa del carmen, like cenotes, amazing beaches, pyramids, the Islands, the food.

In this time my wife, a friend and I decided to take a day trip to the beautiful Island Cozumel with our bikes. I’ve been in Cozumel in different occasions, because my wife is from there, I couldn’t have been luckier than that. Gives me the opportunity to know hidden places as restaurants, beaches where you can see part of the reef without paying a tour not really hard to find them but just the locals know about them.

Cozumel is located 16 kilometers off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo. Boasting the second largest barrier reef in the world, Cozumel has an international reputation as one of the premier diving destinations in the world. Thousands of divers and snorkelers visit every year to experience the 200 feet of visibility, countless species of fish, sponges, anemones and coral.

The trip on the boat was around 35 minutes that you don’t even realize the time, because you can buy some drinks or snacks, while band is playing makes you get in a tropical mood. It was really easy to cross; it doesn’t have any extra cost take the bikes on the Ferry.
Once we arrived to Cozumel, we were starving so we went to a local restaurant that called “El Farito” they are one of the oldest restaurants owned by a Fisher family that lives there. The famous plate they have is “Pimitos” they are made of roasted corn dough, and on top could have, shrimp, fish, or snail that is really typical to eat it in the island, with a cold beer.

After the restaurant we bike to a beach club, that has its own dock where you can jump to the sea, snorkel, it has some hammocks hanging inside the water, and they have an original pet a big black pig!! chilling around the chairs.
The sea in Cozumel is so beautiful, the colors just blow my mind, I really recommend you if you have the opportunity to visit it, you will fall in love to this magical Island.!
