Luscious & Lesser-known Dishes of India
India, The land of spices boasts of a conglomeration of wonderful cuisines. I’ll try to introduce few of the tastiest and lesser known dishes from here.
Pheni
Pheni happens to be one of the oldest desserts in India. The process takes quite a lot of time and skill. This is one of the quintessential desserts in South Indian weddings.
Chiroti
Another classic wedding sweet, Chiroti tastes a little like pheni but the texture and recipes are entirely different. Just like the previous one, this too is served with Badam milk and sugar. Absolute delight these two are !
Aambode
There’s special place in heaven, in all true senses, to the mastermind behind this absolutely spicy and delicious dish. Some call it “Masala-Vada”, but mostly called Aambode and not one festival platter is complete without this dish in the home.
Godd Saaru
Not the usual sambar or rasam. This is the simplest side that can be cooked to rice and requires very minimum ingredients. It’s divine aroma ( the one you get as soon as you add curry leaves, right after asafoetida) captivates anyone well and you will simply love this dish.
THE MAGIC TRIO- Kodubale, Muchchore & Mosru Tengolalu
These three dishes are boon to mankind and are a treat to taste buds. Their flavorful recipes and taste they leave behind every time you relish them is heavenly. Right quantities of flours, curd or even that small pinch of asafoetida leave such amazing aroma that nobody can ever resist.
