Are You Addicted to Fast Food?

With the recent advent of services like SkipTheDishes.com and UberEats the amount of restaurants and fast food joints available to anyone in the city with a computer or mobile device these days is a bit staggering. Even here locally in a small city of around 55,000 people here in Central Canada during the day time we've got something like 21 places just on SkipTheDishes alone. Was doing a bit of budgeting this morning and decided to tally up how much I'd spent on take-out / takeaway food since near the end of 2017 and the results were pretty friggin' ridiculous to actually see.. Then to have the realization that could have bought groceries for almost 2 years with that.

Is Fast Food Ordering a Viable Means of Feeding Yourself?

In short answer, No. Unless you've got a decent amount of expendable income and don't mind spending it on overpriced, over-indulgent foodstuffs delivered to your door is probably not a great idea. With that being said ordering food every once in a while isn't a bad thing. It's a good treat for sure and a decent idea for an indoors date night to treat yourself and your loved ones or family. If you've got more money than free time perhaps ordering take-out food online every day is a feasible thing, but for majority of folks it will likely lead to financial ruin not to mention tip the scales towards the folks becoming out of shape or obese.

Believe me, eating nothing but cheeseburgers and milkshakes sounds like it would be the life but after a few months of said diet you'll not only be an order of magnitude more obese but also feel less healthy as well.. Not to mention the damage done to your wallet. So much damage done to the wallet..

Calculated out what I'd personally spent on take-out fast food through SkipTheDishes.com and the total ended up being something crazy like $7018 CAD since October 2017 when I started using their app. Seemingly between then and now $7000 CAD is a decent amount of money just to shove into your mouth only to be turned into poop.. damnit! Probably could have spent that money more wisely, would likely be more healthy not to mention more prosperous instead of the impoverished struggle currently happening. Seeing as how I won't be able to afford to eat out like I did from 2017 through 2019 seems 2020 will be a bunch of rice with soy sauce!

What is Your Take-Out Expenses Total From Recent Years?

Go check out your SkipTheDishes.com orders list or your UberEats order list and tally them all up and post your amount in the comments below this post. Interested to see how my ~$7000 CAD spent on fast food over the years ranks up with the other folks around here on our STEEM Network!

Dammit Klye, you could have eaten steak or salmon with veggies everyday with your rice and soy sauce for that price.

That is basically what I did man.. lol

I can't even imagine life without shooting up McD's!

lol, ffs bb. Don't shoot up that shit, McJunky is bad bb.

Ya, you hit it right in the chicken nibblits. It sneaks up on you in the wallet and the waistline. The fees too! I use the app(s) at the office but only when ordering for a few people. It would take a rethink of urban planning to get us all back to buying for the day in a farmer/groceries market. This almost has that dystopian feel to it... mmmm... what to order now...

Bahahaha. After writing this my lady friend literally ordered food and I asked her to tally up what she spent on the food deliveries.. She basically said she doesn't want to know. lol

Pfffft. Hear ya man. Then slap a tip on it for the poor bas@#@*d that is out in the cold doing the deliveries

Always used cash as I didn't have a credit card at for most of the time that this ordering went on.. So the guy got a decent tip if I was rounding up to the nearest few bucks to meet what bills I had.. Some guys got $1 tips.. Some guys got $5 tips.. All depended. Sure miss having that sort of money that I could afford to give people decent tips. :P
