MY VISIT TO SAKE ROK IN LAS VEGAS!! ITS A UNIQUE SUSHI EXPERIENCE AND A LOT OF FUN!

in #food8 years ago

People can say whatever they want about this place. It’s just a tourist trap, or a gimmicky joint that misses the mark when it comes down to the actual food. Whatever. I love it. My friends and I have become somewhat addicted to this place. I’m sure it’s just a phase we will grow out of, but were riding the wave lol. Yea of course, take away the dancing, singing, loud music, and pumped up atmosphere, and it is just a standard sushi restaurant, but it’s a good sushi restaurant. I won’t call it adventurous, or claim it’s gonna introduce you to much you haven’t already eaten, but it’s a solid place, and def a fun time.” Americanized fusion” sushi for lack of a better term… is what it is. How much more shit can they shove into a “specialty roll”? It’s all pretty much already been done. What sets this place apart IS the experience. It’s not some awkward place where the servers don’t understand you, and it feels a little forced, but you deal with it because the food is good.

This place is more like a sushi nightclub…complete with choreographed employee dance numbers, and a stage. The nightly host is this amazing man with an even more amazing wardrobe. He jams around the place in these epic silk kimonos, microphone in hand leading his squad of entertainers who are mostly wearing denim cut offs. I haven’t quite figured out the theme of the place as far as dress code. I think they just kind of let the host do his own thing, he’s got a persona, and it works for me! Sake Rok is located in the new area called The Park on the strip right next to the T-Mobile Arena. They’ve got a good, yet concise, drink selection. I always order the Edamame Rok (basically just regular edamame with seasonings) but the spices seriously make a difference. Last visit I ordered the tempura shrimp small plate. It was decent, but nothing to start dancing over. I had the Volcano Roll, and my bestie had the Tiger Roll. They were both good. Not amazing, just good. I’ve had most of the rolls on the menu, and I’ve never came across anything that wasn’t tasty. I’ve never actually ordered from the entrée section of the menu, because we always like to share, and sample. The small plates, apps, and rolls are the way to go in my opinion.

Service is always quick, but gauged to the experience so you don’t feel like you’re being rushed out. My only issue is with the menu (not the content) BUT the actual SIZE of the thing. They hand everyone at the table a literal 3ftX2ft effing poster board. I understand it’s dark in there but is that giant art project really necessary? Bold print works wonders in dim lighting…just sayin. Prices are def higher than a normal sushi house, but like I said you’re paying for the experience, and don’t forget you’re in a brand new spot on the strip. It’s a lot cheaper than other places to eat on the strip, sushi or otherwise. So as long as you don’t mind hitting your friend in the side of the head with a giant menu while enjoying loud music and good food you’ll love the place. It’s got my thumbs up.

A sushi nightclub. That's the stuff dreams are made of!

Mmm choice appetisers, and the sushi looks great. I would agree that place is no tourist trap at all. Good food, good drinks, and still get the night club feel. Would love to take my friends there, thanks for posting!

It really is a great place @cryptocameo :) Thank you for your support!

@bittrex-richie and I went there last week on the recommendation of our waitress at the Aria pool and @lasvegasgirl who told me about it a month ago. It's a fun time. Richie did some dancing to his favorite boy bands and we got a sushi platter called the Godzilla that actually had a foot tall Godzilla statue on it.

If you plan a trip to Vegas, it's a good idea to ask @lasvegasgirl for places to go.

Thank you as always @bittrex-bill :) Your support is worth more than all of the Steem Power in the world! <3

Sushi, amazing; thank you for sharing!
