MY VISIT TO TACOS MEXICO IN LAS VEGAS!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE LATE NIGHT PLACES TO EAT<3
So this place is one of my favorite late night (usually after the bar) food stops. Most of the time I’m a few drinks in when I finally make it there, so please excuse the lack of decent pics;) Tacos Mexico is located on Las Vegas Blvd. towards the north end of the strip (the stratosphere side) and is open 24 hours. Its def nothing fancy but it’s cheap, and it’s the perfect place to end your night. If you’re a fan of dive karaoke bars, Dinos is one of my favorites and it’s just across the street within walking distance. The menu is pretty straight forward but it’s all authentic Mexican stuff. No Americanized ground beef crap. They have classic meats on their menu like beef tongue and cheek. While the carne asada is my favorite I always try to mix it up and order something different just for the sake of trying something new.
Last night I ordered 3 tacos a carne asada a beef cheek and an al pastor (they’re small tacos)and they come in a double wrapped corn tortilla. My friend and I split a gordita. You place your order at a counter and it comes out pretty quickly on a tray. You seat yourself, and you’re responsible for dishing up your own condiments from a little buffet. The whole experience feels a lot like a “fast food” type of deal, but it’s not reflected in the actual food itself. It’s usually busy late night and it can be noisy, probably due to the fact that the majority of the patrons have been drinking. It’s worth tolerating a little noise, and a short waiting line to place your order.
The beef cheek isn’t something to be scared of and was actually really good and def worth trying. The carne asada is always a solid choice along with the al pastor as far as meat goes. Don’t bother with the chicken it’s kind of bland and boring. The gordita was decent but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to order it again. It was messy to eat and fell apart. If you want something to share order the carne asada fries. I don’t think they’re listed on the menu but they make them for me all the time. It’s similar to a poutine done Mexican style and I guarantee you’ll want another order to go. This review is sort of short and sweet but there’s not too much more I can say about this place? I’m betting you’ll become a fan overnight if you give it a try:)
