ULOG #2: Excursion 2018

in #food7 years ago

Hi guys! lemme share to you our excursion yesterday with my co-workers. So, for those who don't know what excursion is, it is a short journey or trip, especially one engaged in as a leisure activity. Since our company has this event, we are given a budget each person, so we have 450/head for 7 persons, well, thanks for this benefit. Since the said event, isn't well planned. We just had a quick decision for this, like typical outing, we chose De La Paz Beach since it is popular and its sunday, so there are lots of people and they have lots of cottages that are affordable.

KINILAW! The best of the rest, you should at least have this in your table, it is a raw seafood dish native to the Philippines. It is more accurately a cooking process that relies on vinegar to denature the ingredients, rather than a dish, as it can also be used to prepare meat and vegetables. Prepared using raw cubed fish mixed with vinegar (usually coconut vinegar or cane vinegar) as the primary denaturing agent, along with a souring agent to enhance the tartness like calamansi, dayap, biasong, kamias, tamarind, green mangoes, balimbing, and green sineguelas. It is flavored with salt and spices like black pepper, ginger, onions, and chili peppers (commonly siling labuyo or bird's eye chili). You will miss half of your life if you dont try this.

LATO! The strange sea salad. This weird seaweed that looks like small grapes is called lato or caulerpa lentillifera. It's very popular in the Philippines and in Japan, where people call it umi-budo. (Credits to google for this info) This is one of my favorite seaweed.
