Healthier Options of Frozen Meals: Udi's Gluten Free Chicken Florentine

in #food8 years ago

Today I am featuring Udi's Gluten Free Chicken Florentine.

This is the first time that I have had this meal. I usually don't buy Udi's brand as the portions are small in my opinion. This meal for example is only eight ounces, and I could eat two of these easily. The tiny allocation size is valid for any of the Udi's trademark entrees. For a six foot man that weighs one hundred and ninety pounds. Eight ounce meals are not anything.

Allotment amounts aside Udi's does make a good snack. This fare tasted superb. The texture of the pasta is almost indiscernible from your regular wheat based pastas. The chicken had a nice grilled flavor. The cream sauce taste like it came from a restaurant, and the vegetables had a fire roasted flavor. The cream sauce was abundant enough to cover the pasta, chicken and vegetables. If this had not been a fraction of a lunch I could have served it up and said it was from an Italian bistro.

I paired this "plethora" of food with a pink lady apple, a bag of Cool Ranch Diritos and a cup of water. Later on I will hit the vending machine because the bountiful lunch I had will not sustain me. With only two grams of fiber it is placed on the low side of the spectrum of fiber intake. The protein content is decent at fourteen grams and it has twenty-five percent of the daily vitamin A we need.

Overall this meal satiated me. I did do not feel the need to add any seasoning. It had enough essence on its own. If you were to spice this up, I would suggest Tabasco sauce or rosemary. I personally really like to add heat to most of my meals.

I have included the front and back of the box.

If you are feeling adulation for this post I would be elated for comments or an up vote.
