Local Taste, Sabah Borneo

in #food7 years ago

When we travel to a certain places, there are a few local dishes which we must try and here soto is one of them. Soto originally originate from Indonesia, as we are very close to Indonesia, it has become part of our tradition to have Soto for every occasion here in Sabah. Of course with a twist of Sabahan taste to it and, I found the best Soto in town for all of you, don't bother going to other places for it. Well that's just my opinion, don't condemn me for that :D. Usually, when it comes to soto its either Soto Ayam or Soto Daging only. But at Soto House (name of the coffee shop) there's Soto Ayam (Chicken), Soto Daging (Beef Meat), Soto Ikan (Fish) and Soto Udang (Prawn) and my favourite has got to be the Soto Ayam with meat ball and prawn ball. You could choose your prefered ingredient in your bowl of Soto.

This is how a Soto Ayam looks like, with prawn ball and wantan(dumpling)

The broth of Soto Daging on the other hand thickens when they put the meat in. It adds up to the flavour of the broth

Notice that there's no noodle on this bowl? That's cause you could choose to have soup on the side and noodles one the other side, like so.

If you choose the ones with noodles on the side, be prepared for black/brownish looking noodles as they mix them with thick soy sauce as flavouring. Its definitely a thumbs up for this one. Till then. Cheers!
