Papaya Salad
Ingredients
1 small papaya, peeled and thinly sliced
1 carrot, peeled and julienned
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
1/4 cup roasted peanuts, crushed
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 red chili pepper, thinly sliced (optional for added spice)
Salt, to taste
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the papaya slices, carrot, bell pepper, cilantro, and mint leaves. Toss them gently to mix.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, lime juice, honey (or brown sugar), minced garlic, and sliced chili pepper (if using). Adjust the sweetness and tanginess to your preference by adding more honey or lime juice.
Pour the dressing over the papaya mixture and toss everything together until well coated. Make sure all the ingredients are evenly dressed.
Taste and season with salt as needed.
Sprinkle the crushed peanuts on top just before serving.
Serve the papaya salad immediately and enjoy!
Note: You can customize the recipe by adding other ingredients like cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, or grilled shrimp to enhance the flavor and texture. Feel free to experiment and make it your own!
