Yes I am talking about Mee Goreng (Malaysian Stir-Fried Noodles which, by the way, is designed to serve one, making it perfect for a quick meal (though it's easily multiplied) -- is a classic Malaysian dish that's often found at street stalls. And anything that's found at street stalls is, of course, comfort food.

Ubiquitous in Indonesia, it can be found everywhere in the country, sold by all food vendors from street-hawkers, warungs, to high-end restaurants. It is an Indonesian one-dish meal favourite, although street food hawkers commonly sell it together with nasi goreng.Authentic mie goreng uses fresh ingredients and spices, however, bottled instant spice paste might be used for practical reasons. The almost identical recipe is often used to create other dishes. For example bihun goreng is made by replacing yellow wheat noodle with bihun or rice.

Main flavor of the noodles comes from the nasi goreng paste and the kecap manis, or Indonesian sweet soy sauce. Both flavors combine to make a taste that is super addictive.

How much calories?

Whooping 624 calories per serving. For people who are caring about health food big no no....

What makes this dish is the sauce. Its main flavor comes from kecap manis, a super sweet and sticky, almost molasses-like soy sauce. It's super addictive!!!

Must try food when you are in Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia..
