MEAT WONDERLAND in Japan - Brazilian Churrasco FEAST!
There's no better way to feel like a KING than to eat Churrasco! Wave after wave of tasty meat is brought to your table and only YOU decide when you've had enough! It truly is one of the best meal experiences you can have!
The Variety Is Overwhelming!
The amazing part about churrasco is that there is a wide assortment of meats for you to enjoy. A non-stop torrent of chicken with ultra-crisp skin; fat, juicy, flavorful linguisa, a type of Brazilian sausage; and perfectly seasoned cuts of beef are brought to you on a long skewer.
Where's The Beef?
Look at those giant hunks of beef! The meat is sliced with a razor-sharp knife right at your table and put on your plate. Now this is what I call service! Imagine if everything else in life were served to you like this!
The rump steak was seasoned perfectly with salt and pepper. The beef was so fresh and perfectly cooked that IT ALONE should have been the same cost as the entire meal!
Isn't that just PERFECT?
I Feel Like Chicken Tonight
Next, a wonderful gentleman came around and brought skewers of chicken thigh chunks and linguisa. I know what some of you are probably saying: "Pfffft, chicken!? I came here for BEEF!" But let me tell you this chicken was AMAZING. The meat was so tender and juicy, and that skin... OH MAN THAT SKIN. The crunch of that chicken skin was so deliciously earth-shattering that my ears are still ringing. Together, they form a perfect harmony of flavor, richness, and crunchiness.
And that linguisa? It was salty, juicy, and bursting with flavor. It was a great contrast to the natural flavors of the beef and chicken. The blend of spices hits you hard, like an unexpected dollop of fresh wasabi.
Garlic Steak. Just The Best Thing, Like, Ever
This here was BY FAR my favorite of all the meats: Garlic Steak. That beautiful juicy beef, seasoned with salt and pepper, with a fresh garlic paste smeared on it before it chars over a hot fire... This garlic steak alone is a reason to exist.
The God Of Beef
Isn't that a thing of pure beauty? This would make Fred Flintstone shed tears of joy! This cut of beef is seasoned very lightly, and to be honest, the flavor gets lost after gorging yourself on all the other meats. The best way to enjoy it is with some of the sauces that are provided on each table.
The sauce on the left is a soy-sauce based dipping sauce. It's salty, savory, yet light at the same time. The one on the right is Brazilian-style salsa. It's a beautiful combination of sour and salty, and the onions give it a beautiful sweet and savory dimension.
Okay, This Is Getting Weird...
"Ooooh! What are those?? Little sausages?" Nope. Chicken hearts. I know, I know, it sounds gross, but you have to try it!
The chicken hearts have a nice meaty texture, but without the stringiness of regular breast or thigh meat. It also has an intense chicken-y flavor. There's just a very slight iron taste, kind of like liver. But as gross as it sounds, it's pleasantly delicious.
The Perfect Ending
To finish things off, you're served as many slices of grilled pineapple as you can handle. If you've never had grilled pineapple before, stop what you're doing, buy a pineapple, throw it in a fire, then eat it. The flesh of the fruit becomes so sweet and that pineapple flavor is concentrated by the heat. It's like eating a pineapple on steroids.
I want to note that there were about 6 other kinds of meats that were brought around. So this list doesn't even scratch the surface!
Other Non-Meat Foods
The meal comes with a side and salad bar with vibrant, fresh, and colorful vegetables.
Even with the vegetables, you get so much choice! They were all so amazingly crisp and fresh. The natural flavors stood out so much that you didn't need any dressing at all!
Did somebody say "ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT CHEESE"????
There's even grilled vegetables, in case you don't like yours raw.
The sides include a Brazilian black bean and sausage stew; rice; fried bananas; french fries; and kale and ham salad.
And just in case the grilled pineapples weren't enough, for $3 extra, you get access to the dessert bar, which includes soft-serve ice cream.
Brazilian Feast With Japanese Quality
This particular restaurant we were at is a popular one in Osaka called Barbacoa. At about $45 a head, it's not cheap, but boy is it worth it. Everything, from the meats, to the vegetables, to the sides were fresh and delicious. This restaurant proudly shows its worth through the quality and the sheer amount of variety of their food. This meal should have costed double, easily.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, modern, and classy.
Who would have thought a place that serves you unlimited meat at your table could look like this and not like a Golden Coral after a busy Sunday lunch rush?
Not only is the place beautiful, the service is amazing! The staff had huge smiles on their faces and were always happy to get you whatever you needed. Usually restaurants in Japan don't allow you to take pictures inside, but the waitress gave me a huge thumbs up when I asked her if I could.
If you're ever in Japan and want a break from the seafood and noodles, then check this place out. You'll be walking in hungry, and leaving happily in a meat-induced coma.
