Street Food & Rum Punch at a Bazar Labrin Market in Beau Vallon
Pineapple, chili and pork served in chapati, a salty pancake made by a local grandma, served at a gorgeous tropical beach. Yesterday was the best day yet at the Seychelles. Although I thought the same thing the day before...
I love street food! And I definitely love African cuisine.
When I visited Kenya, I fell in love with chapatis. A chapati is a salty or at least not sweet pancake.
And when @laivi and I visited an African bazar yesterday and we saw that one of the vendors were selling chapati we knew we had to pick that one.
It doesn’t look very exciting, but trust me, inside this dull colored pancake there’s a taste explosion waiting to happen.
This market lets all locals sell what the make at home.
We tasted delicious starfruit, passion fruit, banana chips and least but not least, chapati with pork and pineapple! It’s safe to say that my tastebuds were insanely happy yesterday!
While waiting on the food, @laivi ordered rum punch for us. This lady served coconut rum, pineapple drinks and lots of refreshing drinks! We’re not spoiled with so much fresh fruit in Norway, so it’s not hard to impress us!
If you ever have the opportunity to visit a local food market, just do it!

The drinks look delicious :) sounds like an awesome time. Wish to be there!
The famous 'Bazar Labrin' , street market which is held at Beau Vallon beach, near Savoy hotel , every wednesday afternoon is not to be missed . Creole food, souvenirs, Sega dance by the fire will all make your holiday a memorable one.
The chapati with pork and pineapple sounds great!
I must say the fish off the braai looks delicious.
Wow....great photography, very nice food, beautiful post thanks
@susanne, all looks great and fresh! We came back from a trip to Ethiopia and we said to each other that we need to explore more of Africa. Seychelles has always been on the list with those islands 'just' south of it...Comoros, Mauritius and of course Madagascar. In time...
Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.
I could definitely use a cocktail and a beach right now!! That sounds pretty amazing. Street food is always kind of special in its own way. It’s made to be quick, convenient to make and convienient to eat. This post was food porn for real though....I can almost smell the food in those pictures!
I'm really interested in photography, like every other human being.
wow cool, in our place very much these fruits @susanne,
