Pork Barbeque Recipe with a Twist @ Lapu-lapu City
Eating delicious food has always been a goal for me on everyday basis because it is like rewarding yourself on doing things and being productive, It is also a factor on what mood you'll be and most of the time you feel relaxed and satisfied after eating a yummy one.
Whenever me and my family hangout or go to the mall and then suddenly gets hungry we always want a barbecue on the menu because it has been our tradition to have this food on the table. It is also one of my favorite food since I was young and I always long for its taste.
Barbecue or barbeque (BBQ)) is both a cooking method and a style of food. Barbecuing is done slowly over low, indirect heat and the food is flavored by the smoking process, while grilling, a related process, is generally done quickly over moderate-to-high direct heat that produces little smoke.
Barbecue has always been part of the Filipino tradition on events it originated at spain so obviously we had to adopt this as we all know Philippines has been colonized by the Spaniards, Spain has also gave Filipinos a good trait.
It was sunday that day and my mom planned on making our dinner and i hastily suggested on having a barbecue on a sunday night , why not? Luckily we had all the ingredients in our stock.
Today I am gonna show you how we make our own barbecue with the help of my Mother.
INGREDIENTS :
Pork Belly
The Main Ingredient
Soy Sauce
To add distinct flavor
Banana Ketchup
Barbecue Mix
To showcase the taste of the barbecue
Lemon
Barbecue Stick
and for our secret ingredient is.....
Butter
Yes you heard that right! Its butter... Fatty foods are often more flavorful because many flavors dissolve in fats. Butter works very well as a flavor carrier for spices and it also blends with the taste of the ketchup plus the unique taste of it.
The Process
Step 1
Prepare the pork that is already sliced in strips and put it in the barbecue stick until all the pork is placed on the stick.
The sauce is composed of soy sauce(It depends on your taste) , barbecue mix, and lemons to add freshness of the pork.
Step 2
Prepare the grill, In my case we have a need to do the traditional one. We call it "haling" it is like preparing the griller by heating the charcoal until it is smoking hot. We first made fiire until it reaches the "uling" or the charoal.
Charcoal
As you can see it is ready for the cooking..
Step 3
Prepare the barbecue filling or sauce by combining ketchup, a little bit of oil and most importantly 1 tablespoon of butter. Brush it on the barbecue by using a kitchen brush.
Step 4
Gently put the raw pork barbecue in the griller until you fill the whole griller.
It is better to flip sides during 2-3 minutes in order to avoid burning of the pork and also do not forget to brush the sauce.
Step 5
You can continue on flipping sides until you are satisfied with its texture.
And Voila! It is now ready to be served :)
You can just strip off the burned parts :)
Final thoughts:
It is really delicious I can guarantee it and also a must want on every occasion or events such as birthday parties or family gatherings, and as the saying goes "Nothing is better than going home to family and eating good food and relaxing." So good food is best when shared with your loved ones! :)
