FOOD... TOUCHY SUBJECT

Hi! I haven't ever been outside the US so I can only speak for how I have seen a lot of US people act about food.

  1. It's okay if someone doesn't want to try your homemade food.
  2. It's okay if someone doesn't like your homemade food.
  3. It's okay if someone doesn't like your kind of food.
  4. It's okay if someone doesn't want you to cook for them.
  5. It's okay if someone asks you the ingredients on your food before they will eat it because:
    a. They have food allergies or,
    b. They eat healthy or unhealthy and aren't interested in the opposite or,
    c. They just don't like certain things and don't want to try them again.
  6. If someone eats healthy and doesn't eat like you, it doesn't mean that they are judging you and you shouldn't try to make them feel bad for eating healthy because you feel bad for eating unhealthy.
  7. People have different tastes buds and have been raised eating different things, if they don't like your food, it doesn't mean they think you are a bad cook, or that they are rejecting you. Don't take it personal and allow them the freedom to be them.
  8. It's okay to ask yourself if you have control issues concerning food situations with people. People should feel free to join you in your invitation for dinner or decline freely (they may be fasting and don't want to draw attention to it). There are other fun things to do together without eating.
  9. If you have a party, and someone brings food for themselves because of allergies, quality, or taste preference, that's okay. They can still fellowship with you over a meal. They don't have to settle for a health destroying meal to make you feel good.
  10. If someone doesn't want to go to a certain restaurant with you or your group because they don't feel good about eating there, that's okay. Or if they bring their own drink and sit with you to hang out there while you eat, that's okay, too. :D It's just that easy. :D
Did you know that certain food these days can cause cancer? We should celebrate with people who are trying to go organic instead of attacking them.
