【The Battle of Cake】Cheesecake Factory & Lady M & Harbs

Human is always enamored with new, right? Okay. Not everyone, but it’s me, when talking about cakes.

Few years ago, I loved Cheesecake Factory after taking my first bite of Godiva Cheesecake. It’s really tasty. I couldn’t forget the intense chocolate layers, with chocolate cheesecake, chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache. It’s really a best choice for chocolate lovers.

Price range from USD$6.75 to USD $7.75.

Lady M

2 years ago, I tried Lady M’s Mille-Crepes Cake in Hong Kong. I queued for around an hour. It’s crazy to me but it’s worth. We ordered 3 flavors but we all love Signature Mille Crêpes at the end. The most impressing me is the cake melts in my mouth. It claims that the cake has no less than twenty paper-thin handmade crêpes layered with ethereal light pastry cream. It tastes smooth but you will still feel a little bit greasy when you nearly finish a piece of cake.

Recently, Lady M Rose Mille Crepes has been available in Hong Kong, and eventually become my super favour! I love Rose flavor. And it doesn’t taste like artificial. I really feel satisfactory after having it.

Paper-thin handmade crepes layered with rose flavour infused pastry cream, garnished with sweet rose jelly and edible rose petals.

Harbs

After Lady M, I guess there will be no other cake shop attracting me again. Who knows there is Harbs! My first impression about their cakes was too thick. I don’t like too creamy, which tastes greasy.

But several weeks ago I visited Japan and passed Harbs. It looked cute and popular so I bought two pieces of cake. I tried the signature fresh fruit cake. I was quite surprised that the fruits were so fresh and sweet and light cream was soft. It didn’t taste greasy at all. In the fresh fruit cake, there were layers of strawberry, kiwi, blueberry and other fresh fruit. With the fresh fruit, it seems healthier than the other two cakes I just mentioned before. It is easy for me to finish the piece of cake and I found less guilty.
