Poulet à la Vénitienne

This dish is a classic French recipe that combines chicken, mushrooms, and a creamy white wine sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken breasts and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer chicken to a baking dish.
  5. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add white wine, heavy cream, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Pour sauce over chicken in the baking dish.
  9. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, until chicken is cooked through.
  10. Serve hot with your favorite side dish. Enjoy!
