Today on our dinner table: bœuf bourguignon 🧅
Bœuf Bourguignon
Ingredients
- 1 kg of beef chuck
- 4 slices of bacon
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 bottle of red wine
- **1 ** bouquet garni
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the bacon and cook until crisp.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add the beef and cook until browned.
- Add the tomato paste, flour, and sugar and cook for a few minutes.
- Pour in the red wine and add the bouquet garni.
- Simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the bouquet garni and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
