Ice - More than keeping your drink cold
Lets Start
Keeping your drink cold is the number one job of ice but having it look wonderful and adding something special to your beverage is a nice bonus. Today I'm going to show you how to "sexy" up that ice with some simple tactics. Your going to need some lime juice, a lime, large format ice cube mold and a kitchen knife.
Get Cooking
Slice the lime the long way in half and then again so you have two quarter wedges, cut the wedges about a 3/16" in width so you have some "cute" wedges. In a glass mix the lime juice and and water; 1 part lime juice, 2 parts water. You can ahead of time figure out how much liquid your mold holds so you don't over or under mix.
Finish Up
Pour the mixture into the mold and float in 1 or 2 pieces of lime wedge into each cell. Put in the freezer over night.
Enjoy
Please your frozen cubes into a simple glass of water or any mixed cocktail. The one in the photo below was lemon and basil chiffonade that I served with fathers day.
