In the past, when the Acehnese went to war against the Dutch and Japanese invaders, the fruits of janenglah by our indians were made into food and supplies brought to the jungle or the locations of guerrilla warfare, and in gampong (village) were often also used as food for rice.

Among the people of Aceh, Janeng is known by the nickname "War Age" for traveling, including traveling for guerrilla war against the Dutch colonists decades ago.

Janeng trees grow in the bushes, growing well in damp places and protected from the sun.

Janeng is a type of tuber. The tree is small and spiked small vines like betel trees. The leaves are green when young. The road grows wild in the forest-under the tree of larger size and shade, nowadays the tree of janeng has started rare in Aceh.

Sort:

Delicious, and can be processed into fried noodles, pancakes, cup cakes, even pizza. But to cultivate it into food, we must be careful not to 'get drunk'. They contain poison that makes us drunk.

Okay awesome. Thanks for the info :)
