Goalkeeper Willy Caballero signs for Chelsea

Caballero, 35 years old argentinian goalkeeper, has been out of contract at Manchester City.  Today, he signs for Chelsea on free transfer. He will be a brilliant back up to No.1 for Chealsea after Asmir Begovic was allowed to join Bournemouth.

He started his professional career with Boca Junior in 2001 and spent his most of career in spain with Elche and Malaga. In summer of 2014, he signed for Manchester city and spent his last three years in Premier League.  Caballero played for Argentina at under 20-level, helping the nation win the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship by playing in the competition's last two games. In 2004, he was picked for the gold medal-winnig squad at the 2004 summer olympics as backup to German Lux (also first-choice in the previous tournament). In November 2014, Caballero was called up to the senior squad by Gerardo Martino for friendlies against Croatia and Portugal.

Caballero said: ‘I am very happy to join Chelsea, the champions of England. I am looking forward to meeting the guys and helping the club achieve more success in the coming season.'

Michael Emanolo added: 'We are very happy to have Willy on board. He knows the Premier League and is tried and tested at the top of the game.  '

In three years at Etihad Stadium, Cabello served as Joe heart´s back up and he did very well when he got the chances. He is mostly etched on our memories with his heroic performance at 2016 League Cup Final againist Liverpool. He saved three penalties on that day from Lucas, Coutinho and Adam Lallana. So City could save the trophy.
