Liverpool take 24 hours to break Manchester City’s Champions League record
After beating Basel 4-0, in the first leg of their last sixteen tie on Tuesday night, Manchester City was the previous holder of the record.
However, this victory by Manchester city as the away king, was short lived as Liverpool beat Porto Just 24hrs later. Sadio Mene scored the hat-trick with other players such as Roberto Firmino who were also on the score sheet.
Mane is just the fourth Red to score a hat-trick in Europe after Philippe Coutinho, Yossi Benayoun and Michael Owen.
A new champions leaugue record has been set by liverpool with epic 5-0 win in Porto. Liverpool and Mane are said to be on their way to victory by a goalkeeping mistake, before Porto shipped in three solid goals in the second half of the match
Presently, Liverpool is the champion leaugue's top goalscorer with 28goal, 25 of which are from their last five matches.

A plus for liverpool fans and negative for the chasing pack (spurs fans like myself): klopp will be able to give some knock out champions league experience to youngsters in the second leg whilst resting that dangerous front 3 for the run in.
