Some of the Super Eagles players who must improve before the World Cup.
The recent International Friendly match between England and Nigeria has raised some questions from the fans.
The Nigerian team played the game like it was a training match in the first half but came into the second with enthusiasm which am sure the coach made some changes to the starting line up and the formation adopted.
I bring to you the players of that must improve before the kick off of the said competition.
- William Troost-Ekong
The said player was constantly drawn out of position and contributing to several blunders made by the defense of Nigerian team. The player only got better after switching to the back three by the coach in the second half.
- Abdullahi Shehu’s lack of positioning in the first-half and it was so obvious he lack. Alex Iwobi having had to cover for him in the most of the second half after the formation was switched.
- Joel Obi was given another chance to impress andhe had another wasted. He has been playing pretty well for club and I guess it's the reason for the reintroduction but this time he didn't impress. He had to be substituted in the first half.
- Ogenyi Onazi was also a flop on this day, he offers a bit of legs in the Nigeria midfield but always completely outrun in the middle each time the England attack comes. His passes well misplaced most time which brought frustration to the defense.
- Mikel John Obi, the lucrative midfielder and a presence in the Nigerian team. His absence in the midfield against Poland, Serbia and DR Congo was literary missed, his addition to the team was justified. However, in the first half, he was totally hidden because he played out of the required position but in the second half was a bit better performance after being restore to the middle of the pack.
