FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ousmane Dembélé for 105 million euros plus add-ons. The player will sign a five year contract and his buy out-clause is set at 400 million euros.

Dembélé will arrive in Barcelona on Sunday and he will undergo a medical on Monday morning local time.

Pace and versatility

Born in Vernon, France on 15 May 1997, Ousmane Dembélé is one of the best young players in the world. The French winger stands out for his pace, ability to beat men and versatility. He comes to FC Barcelona after having demonstrated his quality with Rennes and then Borussia Dortmund. He can play on either wing in attack and is known for his great dribbling (last season he carried 103 successful dribbles, more than anyone else in the Bundesliga).

At 20 years of age he has played a total of seven games with the French national side alongside Barça players Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne. Last season Dembélé scored 10 goals in 49 matches aside from being third on list of players with most assists in Europe with 20 in all competitions. Without doubt he is hugely talented player, one of the best on the continent.

On 12 May 2016, Dembele signed a five-year contract with German club Borussia Dortmund, and there is no release clause held within.

Dembele scored 10 goals and served up 21 assists in 49 games during his debut campaign in Germany, lifting silverware with DFB Pokal success. He was also in the Dortmund lineup for the Super Cup against Bayern on Saturday.

Barcelona general manager Oscar Grau has earmarked Dembele, 20, as the replacement for Neymar following his defection to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the earlier report: BVB have made clear that they want £135million for a player plucked from Rennes for an initial £13million last summer. That move was the culmination of an 18 month chase for BVB, who had watched the player at junior levels and kept track of his progress.

In addition, Dembele deleted BVB from his profiles on both Twitter and Instagram before.

On 10th August, New Dortmund boss Peter Bosz told reporters that the Frenchman skipped the session without informing any body at the club: "Dembele didn't show up for training today. We don't know where he is. We couldn't reach him today." Then, Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc announced that striker Ousmane Dembele has been punished for missing training. On the same day, Borussia Dortmund rejected an offer from Barcelona for Ousmane Dembele.
