Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho: Pep all the way

in #football6 years ago

These two managers have shown time and time again that they are the best managers in the game today, no doubt Pep is having an upper hand again Jose for now but we all know it's a game of football anything can change.

These two managers have managed the best and biggest players in today's games and at the same time they have managed woeful players.
They are serial winners, they have both conquered anywhere they have been to, from Germany to Spain, to England to Portugal etc. they have conquered Europe at one time or the other.
But who is a better manager?
In time of crisis, which of them can bring stability?

For me, I'll go for Pep Guardiola anytime and anyday over Jose Mourinho.
Though these managers are very sound technically, but I'll still go for Pep for the following reasons:

1.) HE'S A WINNER:
Though they are both winners, but the manner in which both wins is different (though winning is winning), Pep believes so much in possession football, he improved the ticky-tacka style of play and he make opposition manager looks like a toddler. In his first senior managerial position with Barcelona, he conquered not just Spain but also Europe and even the world as a whole, he won all the trophies he contested for, kings cup, La Liga, UEFA champions league, UEFA super cup, Spanish super cup and the world club cup. He became the first and only manager to achieve this feat. People taught it was fluke but he not only conquered Spain the next season, he won the champions league in his third season in charge.
He went to Germany with Bayern Munich, he conquered German, winning the league with the highest ever possible points, won the German domestic leagues, then he came to England. So many people believe the ticky-tacka will never be successful in England, but as usual, he proved them wrong. He won the EPL in a fashion that has not been done before, he's the first and only manager to have the highest point in the premier league history, having 100 points to win the league.
Though Mourinho is also a winner wherever he goes, but the manner in which Guardiola wins is second to none. He wins like his opponents didn't come for the party, he wins like he's playing with toddlers.

2.) IMPACTS ON NATIONAL TEAM:
When he was in Spain, the Spanish team won the Euros and also the World Cup.
He went to Germany, and the Germans won the World Cup.
His journey so far in England took the English to the semi final of the World Cup but they ended in forth position, their best in years.
While in Spain majority of the Spanish team were from Barcelona.
While in German, majority of the German team ply their trade with Bayern Munich.
And in England just four of his players made the plane to Russia, maybe that's why they didn't win the tournament, who knows?
But such cannot be said of Mourinho.

3.) HE MAKES YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH FOOTBALL
The way he sets his team to play, the way he tell his team to play, the way he gives his instruction, the way he dresses, the way he does this, the way he does that, you just don't have a choice than to love his way, though you might not really like him as s person.
For example, Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn't like him, but he has never said anything bad about his tactics, but he has said bad things about him and he still has a bad feeling for him, but never his tactics.
Pep Guardiola has a sexy way of setting up his team and also his ticky-tacka is second to non
Jose Mourinho has been criticized times without number over the years by so many people (past and present footballers, pundits, fans etc) even when he's winning. He has a negative tactics, always parking the bus.
I saw Thiery Henry analysis on one of guardiola's games while at Barcelona, I can stop watching the analysis over and over again

This guy is the Messi and Ronaldo combined in coaching.

Other factors include player management, trophies won by both managers (Pep has won more) fans management, press management etc.
For me, I give it to Pep Guardiola, he's ahead of Mourinho but not miles ahead.
If I have a team, I'll prefer to break the bank just to sign Pep Guardiola instead of Mourinho.

Sort:

Pep is playing the more attractive football

Of course, he's the better of the two
