Failed to win, De Jong: Barcelona forgot how to play football.
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong said his team forgot how to play football in the second half, after winning 3-0 in the first half over Celta Vigo. Unfortunately, Barcelona failed to maintain their advantage until they were held 3-3 by Celta Vigo.
"I think in the second half we forgot to play, we were very passive and we lacked character," said the Dutchman, quoted by Reuters on Sunday.
"It's a very important game for us to go a little higher in the table and the result is a very big blow for us."
In addition to the unsatisfactory results, three Barcelona players, namely Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati and Nico Gonzales, were injured. So far, 11 Barcelona players have been injured.
Barcelona interim coach, Sergi Barjuan said that his team really needed to look at this problem.
"This is very strange and it would be good to find out why and make sure it doesn't keep happening," he said.
"We have had a lot of problems with injuries and although that's not an excuse, it's very important for the future."
