First job for any intelligent coach is to shore up the defence. Attacking flowing football has never been a problem for Arsenal since Wenger came but they have a shocking defence for anyone thinking of challenging for anything. The defence has actually looked worse than last season, they have managed to get a player that is slower than Mustafi, Sokratis has never had pace and looks even slower in this league. Fair enough they don't want to buy defenders atleast teach the ones you have how to defend. what happened to teaching players rather than just buying more. A Madrid before Simeone had 2 of the worse defenders in the league Miranda and Godin he came in and made Godin to be considered world class. Arsenal missed a trick by not going after Simeone, Arsenal fans would argue the style of football I would argue winning something, which looks highly unlikely under Emery he is not tactically astute cannot attract huge names.
