@samygold: Let me first start by saying who loves a boring football match? I guess no one. Dribbling and showboating are moves that gets excited but not every move can get the fans on their feet. Passing is a skill that shows the beauty of football when players complete most of their passes, they concede less because there is little or no mistake the opponent can counter on. And also fans love watching a match when they opponent are powerless due to the fact, they cannot get the ball go and ask Manchester city and Barcelona opponents if they enjoy running around the pitch without touching the ball, they will definitely tell you NO!. The Tiki-taka brought to Barcelona by club legend Johan Cruyff has made Barcelona being known for good passes and in most cases these passes leads to goals! you can see the combination of Fabregas,Iniesta and more others leading to goals because they understand the concept of passing they can pass the ball 100 times without the opponent touching it and leading to goals. It also helps to keep possession. Sometimes dribbling are vulnerable to conceding goals because you can't get all the moves you make mistakes sometimes but good passes don't. I hope you all can see why passing is the best skill in football.
@Daniel_Illa: The most important skill in football is the skill to score goals, you see the reason why I love Cristiano Ronaldo is that he knows how to score goals, he scored with his left foot, he scored with his right foot, he scored with his head , he scored with back heel, he scored with his knees in fact he can scored off side goals and the referee would understand. You see what's the essence of dribbling, accurately passing, tick tac, possession , entertaining football if you can't score.Look at Roma vs Barcelona, where will Tick-tac possession take you if you cannot score. Look at Barcelona vs Chelsea Champions League 2012, no matter how you dribble, hold possession if you cannot score all is useless. So I stand with the fact that the must important skill in football is skill to score goals.
