Nottingham Forest Weekly Report - 9th April 2018

With troubling allegations surrounding Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, things haven't been much better on the pitch for the club since my last report. Scheduled to play three games, one was postponed (Barnsley) and the other two were losses. Fans are feeling the tension, as a late relegation battle is possible yet. That game against Barnsley could be crucial in deciding who goes down and is very much a 'six pointer'.

The first match was away to Millwall and resulted in a 2-0 loss.

Millwall had scored within the opening minute in two of their last three league games so Forest had no excuse when Millwall scored in the 49th second! Surely they must have been prepared for a fast start seeing that it's been so effective for the opposition. To be fair though, this was a tricky away fixture against a team higher in the league and in better form. They're also chasing a playoff place. Millwall scored again in the first half and Forest had no reply for the rest of the game. Forest did have 65% possession of the ball though and did control the game in many ways. On another day the result may have been different but it's goals that count in football, not possession.

It should have been a home match next against Barnsley. The match was postponed though because of a waterlogged pitch so the next game was away again, this time against Middlesbrough. This match report is nearly identical to the last match: Forest lost 2-0 (away from home), from two goals in the first half, despite having over 60% possesion. Also, just like the last match Forest's opponents were higher in the league, enjoying better form and chasing a playoff place.

Forest have got a difficult set of matches coming up now and it's possible the Barnsley fixture (and a win against them) could be vital for the club. They only need a good result or two though to ensure survival in the league so fate is very much in their own hands. Here's a look at the remaining league fixtures and the league table.

My father is the soccer fan.

That's cool does he support a team?

I dont think he has a favorite team at this time. My family is from the Antigua so he might be intrested in the carribean teams if there are any......

Yeah lots of teams out there. I'd love to travel to the region - have you been to Antigua before?
