One foot in front of the other. That is the only way to keep moving forward. What other choice does he have? He made his choice, for better or for worse, but he chose her over his brethren.
Funny though, he betrayed his entire race, yet it feels so right, it makes him feel....weird, warm inside. It makes him feel...well it is hard to describe, no other demon has felt like this before. Could it be that he, Ma-log, has fallen in love with her? Is this love that the mortals mention so often? Most unlikely, he was taught that soulless demons can't fall in love but he is sure only about two things. He will look behind his shoulder for the entire eternity, in fear of his former brethren, and the second one is that he only wants to be near her. This could be just another trick angels played on him, but he is more than willing to play the role of the victim in this case. Even being a pray of her trap is a prize by itself. She is glorious in every single way. Her soft yet warm voice. Her playful hair. But above all, her eyes that are deeper than the depths of the Hell pits, but instead of pain and misery are filled with joy and compassion. Her eyes are what ensnared him forever. And for a moment, just for a moment, she looked at him, the same way he looked at her.
What future holds for Ma-log? ........... One foot in front of the other.

as always fabulous writing

Interesting story of love between mortals and humans. Crafting a story around a provided image takes a lot of imagination. First time I heard about this challenge and seems quite engaging.

The eternal question surfaces to his mind : is this love or lust? does he know the difference?

thanks for the intriguing story!

It is a new sensation for him, so he can not name it, yet it moves him forward
